Isaac Gaddis. Toothpick Monster. Mixed Media. 2018.

This mixed media piece is one that I did in 2018. This particular piece was extremely hard to think of at first, but as I thought more of it, the easier it got to put my idea into a creation. I decided to make a plant for this piece by using white earthenware clay and making small holes on every side. After putting the holes in, I decided to paint it blue to represent that it is neutral until it is threatened. Then, I put toothpicks into the places where they are now and painted them with acrylic paint. The orange toothpicks at the bottom represents the way that the plant receives food from sunlight and water from the ground while the red toothpick represents a poison thorn at the top of the plant.

Isaac Gaddis. Big Letters and Numbers. Mixed Media. 2018.

This mixed media piece I did in 2018. The reason why I wanted to do this piece was because I have never done anything with stenciling before so I thought that this was a nice challenge for me to do something completely new to me. I know that it looks really simple and easy to do, but it was not. It took me a couple of days just to figure out what I was going to do with stenciling. I have learned that just taking time and effort in this has made me realize that it is okay to try something new even though you just want to keep doing stuff that you already know how to.

Isaac Gaddis. Little Bowl. Porcelain Clay with Glaze. 2017.

This small clay piece I made in the year 2017. The reason that I wanted to do this piece was because I just wanted to see how good I have gotten over the years from being a freshman to being a junior. When I am older, I just want to look back and see how far I had made it in my art skills. I think that just taking time to practice stuff like this will help in the long run and will make you better at art.

Isaac Gaddis. My Wonderful House Is My Fortress of Solitude. Tempera Paint on CanvasBoard. 2016.

This painting of my house I did in 2016. It could use some more work on it, but I like what I did with the colors. The main reason why I decided to paint my house is because when I was growing up, my house was and still is, my fortress of solitude. My house will always be my shelter from everything that is bad in the world and my forever home no matter where I go to live. It will always be my home.
Isaac Gaddis. Jesus, I Praise Your Holy Name. White Earthenware Clay with Glaze. 2016.

This clay piece I did was in 2016. I did this piece because I wanted to show the world what I believe in as a Christian. My beliefs are very strong because I trust God and the plan that He has for me. I also wanted to show that I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and that He will always protect me no matter what goes wrong in my life.

Isaac Gaddis. Table of Diamonds and Wealth. Porcelain Clay with Glaze and String. 2017.

This clay piece I did in 2017. I wanted to do this clay and string piece because I wanted to show the world that a person does not have to come from a rich family  to be rich, because all one needs in life is happiness. Our wealth, no matter how much of it we have, hangs down from our lives because we waste so much of it to the point where we do not have much of it anymore. I wanted to show that no matter how much wealth a person has, he or she will always have wealth and will always be loved by his or her family.

Isaac Gaddis. A Bright Lantern. Soft Pastel on Paper. 2016.

This soft pastel drawing of a lantern that I did was done in 2016. It probably could use some more work to it with mixing the pastels to the right shade of color, but I like it. One of the main reasons why I did this lantern is because of the cross on top of it which shows my religious beliefs. Also, this lantern will lighten the path that I need to follow.
